Merck hikes dividend by 10.5%

Merck & Co (MRK) will raise its quarterly dividend by 10.5 percent to $0.42 per share in the fourth quarter of 2011. This marks the first dividend increase by Merck since 2004.

The next dividend will be paid on January 9, 2012 to shareholders of record on December 15, 2011. The ex-dividend date is December 13, 2011.
