Duke Energy hikes dividend by 1.9%

Duke Energy (DUK) will raise its quarterly dividend by 1.9 percent to $0.945 per share in 2019. This follows a 4.2 percent dividend hike by the utility company last year and marks the 15th consecutive year of dividend increases.

This dividend is payable on Sept. 16, 2019, to shareholders of record at the close of business Aug. 16, 2019. A new annual rate of $3.78 per share yields 4.2% at a stock price of $89.

Duke Energy states that it has paid a cash dividend on its common stock for 93 consecutive years.
