Entergy hikes dividend by 10.7%

Entergy Corporation (ETR) will raise its quarterly dividend by 10.7 percent from $0.75 to $0.83 per share in 2010. This marks the electric utility's first dividend hike since 2007.

The increased dividend will be paid on June 1, 2010 to shareholders of record on May 12, 2010. The ex-date for this next dividend of 83 cents is May 10, 2010.

Entergy Corporation is an integrated energy company engaged primarily in electric power production and retail distribution operations. Entergy owns and operates power plants including nuclear power plants. The company delivers electricity to utility customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
