Credit card company American Express (AXP) will raise its quarterly dividend by 15 percent to $0.23 per share in 2013. This follows a 2 cent per share dividend hike to 20 cents quarterly last year.

The next dividend is payable on August 9, 2013 to shareholders of record on July 5, 2013. The ex-date for the increased dividend of 23 cents per share is July 2, 2013. American Express also hiked its dividend last year and this marks the second consecutive dividend increase for AXP.
