Charles Schwab hikes dividend by 30%

Charles Schwab (SCHW) will raise its quarterly dividend by 30 percent to $0.13 per share in the third quarter of 2018. This follows a 25 percent dividend hike by the broker earlier this year, resulting in a YTD dividend hike of 62.5 percent.

The dividend is payable August 24, 2018 to stockholders of record as of the close of business on August 10, 2018. The new annual dividend of 52 cents per share yields 1% at a stock price of $52.55. Including dividends, the stock has gained 2.7 percent YTD.

Chairman Charles Schwab commented, “This dividend increase reflects the Board’s confidence in our ability to continue to deliver consistent earnings and cash flow as we pursue our ‘Through Clients’ Eyes’ strategy.”
