Citrix Systems (CTXS) will start paying a quarterly dividend of $0.35 per share in the fouth quarter of 2018. The company follows many other technology companies initiating a dividend in the last couple of years.

The first ever dividend is payable December 21, 2018 to all shareholders of record as of the close of business on December 7, 2018. The ex-date for this first ever dividend of 35 cents usually is the day before the record date, so in this case December 6.

The annualized dividend of $1.40 per share yields 1.4% at a stock price of $102.47 for Citrix Systems.

“Citrix continues to generate strong levels of cash flow allowing us to invest in our business while providing capital return to our shareholders. As we continue to focus on providing a comprehensive capital return program, Citrix initiated its first dividend. In addition to the dividend, we increased our ongoing share repurchase program by $750 million,” said Drew Del Matto, Citrix chief financial officer.
