Morningstar (MORN) will raise its quarterly dividend by 12.0 percent to $0.28 per share in the first quarter of 2019. This is the investment research provider's 8th consecutive year of dividend increases.

The increased dividend is payable January 31, 2019 to shareholders of record as of January 4, 2019. The new annualized dividend rate of $1.12 per share yields 1.0% at a stock price of $114.42 for MORN.

"Thanks to continued momentum in our business, we've been able to provide investors with a dividend increase every year since its introduction in 2010. As we continue to grow organically, we're confident in our ability to return healthy levels of capital to shareholders through both dividends and opportunistic share buybacks," said Kunal Kapoor, chief executive officer of Morningstar.
