Airplane maker Boeing (BA) will raise its quarterly dividend by 20.2 percent to $2.055 per share in the first quarter of 2019. This follows a similar dividend hike by Boeing last year.

The new dividend will be payable March 1, 2019, to shareholders of record as of Feb. 8, 2019. The new annualized dividend rate of $8.22 per share yields 2.5% at a stock price of $328. With the latest increase to the dividend Boeing has increased its dividend nearly 325 percent over the past six years.

The company also produces military aircraft, helicopters and space and missile systems. Boeing operates in four reportable segments: Commercial Airplanes (BCA); Defense, Space & Security (BDS); Global Services (BGS) and Boeing Capital (BCC). Prior to this dividend cut Boeing had paid a dividend to shareholders every year since 1942. The first ever dividend was paid in 1937.
