Apple hikes dividend by 7.3%

Apple (AAPL) will raise its quarterly dividend by 7.3 percent to 22 cents per share in 2021. This comes after a 6.5 percent dividend hike to $0.82 per share in announced in 2020. The technology company has now raised its dividend for 9 consecutive years. 

The increased dividend will be paid on May 13, 2021 to shareholders of record as of the close of business on May 10, 2021. The next ex-dividend date for AAPL is May 7, 2021. Apple stock yields 0.7% based on the new annual dividend of $0.88 per share and a stock price of $133.48. Apple is one of the biggest dividend payers in the United States and wordwide with an annual payment of almost $15 billion to shareholders.
